Review on Logan F200 2 Precision Sander πŸ”§ Elite: The Ultimate Power Tool for Fine Woodworking by David Blackstock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sander, but could be better.

As another reviewer here noted, the table is in two parts that join together in the middle and apparently the table wasn't flattened after the two parts were joined. I sent the first one back as it had a very noticeable 0.022"/0.559mm sink in the middle. To make matters worse, the paneling at the front was higher than the level of the table, which allowed more clearance. The second wasn't milled either but was only 0.008/0.203mm which was close enough for an acceptable joint. Not exactly what I would tout as a premium precision machine. This suggests it is a very useful tool. I didn't check the runout of the disc as there was already a grinding disc attached to it but when you spin it with some play between the disc and the straight edge it seems pretty flat Purpose good but it could be better if it were made to tighter tolerances. Even with the need to return the first grinder (thank you Revain Prime's return policy), I'm giving it 5 stars because, despite having issues with the first W tool came to me. This is invaluable for gouge alignment and I know there is no other tool quite like it.Update - I recommend swapping out the very coarse 80 grit sanding disc that comes with the kit. Revain offers excellent interchangeable discs such as: B. A 10" PSA Adhesive Sanding Disc, 120 grit 2-disc PeachTree Woodworking PW6079 or a 12" PSA Adhesive Sanding Disc, 2 disks PW64 if you want a smoother joint and/or less aggressive stock removal.
