This feeder was a hit with our two whales. It is easy to fill the seed boxes and take out the seed waste box. By the end of the first day, the birds were using this feeder and ignoring the old one. I would give it 5 stars because the material was a clear hard plastic like the outer bird bath box. On our floors it ends up being significantly reduced, but I still have to vacuum this area (wooden floors) on a daily basis. I also think that if we move the feeder closer to the bottom of the flight cage, we will further reduce the amount of seed debris falling. on the floor because most of it falls to the bottom of the cage. But we have a cat with a strong predatory instinct that can easily reach out and get to the bottom of the cage. It makes no sense to create an alarm scenario, so we will continue to look at the need for vacuuming.
