Review on πŸ”ͺ Mastering Knife Sharpening: Ultimate Professional Stone Kit for Precision Blade Renewal by Robert Ryokan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The knife comes out sharp enough to shave the hair off his arms. Good set for your money.

I bought this set recently as I didn't have waterstones to sharpen my knives but ended up giving it to my father as he also needed the set and uses it more often. Today he opened the set after his grandmother had a problem with a paring knife. Unpacked, thrown some rocks in the water and sharpened. He was never a big fan of angled guides (like the one that came with it) so he just looked at what a 20 degree angle looked like on the guide and went from there, finished sharpening and then finished it off with a leather strap . It came out nice and sharp. Then he sharpened an old, blunt butcher knife on the side. He was very impressed with the quality of the stone as he has had cheap stones in the past and they fell apart on him (time will tell though; will update if they fall apart) but this set seemed good stones too to have. He likes the bamboo stand and the fact that it includes a leveling stone (which he hasn't used yet); I did not use the gloves that came with it. In general a quality product. More or less worth the price. Would buy again.
