I like that the thermometer is foldable. I don't have any other thermometer and it's easy to accidentally press the buttons and turn it on. This is foldable and eliminates accidental switching on and off. It turns on/off automatically when the thermometer rod is pulled out or put away. I love that it beeps when it reaches temperature, although it still seems to jump when measuring the water temp (haven't used it on meat yet). It's not super thin, but that shouldn't be a problem. It also has a hole which is handy if you want to hang it up. I see it useful on the grill. In terms of accuracy, it seems to read a little lower than my other meat thermometer, but I'm not sure which temperature is more accurate. Based on the temperatures measured on the three devices, this one showed the lowest temperature at around 1-4 degrees.
