I changed the oil on my boat with a regular oil filter wrench, the type that pinches and tightens when you push it, the filter wouldn't budge but tried my hand at it bend over Yes, I had quite a few filters, still didn't work. So I went to the dock and saw a mechanic that I use a lot, he had one of those Irwin locking chain clamp wrenches that he wanted to lend me. I put this Irwin wrench on the problematic filter, adjusted the chain around the oil filter rim, and immediately unscrewed the filter. After this episode I found out who made and ordered this oil filter wrench, now it's on my boat.
