Review on Lisle 75500 Combustion Leak Detector by Dmitriy Kingsley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Direct replacement for the original fluid from my kit (bought elsewhere)

Glad I found this on Revain. I haven't opened the bottle yet, but if it works as well as what came with my leak test kit (I expect it will as the bottles are identical) it will work like a charm and work for half the price. Order a replacement catalogue. Be sure to check your results. That said, if there is NO burn leak, judging by the lack of a color change, exhale into the tube and see if there is enough CO2 on your breath to turn the blue color greenish yellow. If not, then the chemical itself is defective. The process I use is to let the car idle for about 5-10 minutes with the hood open, then get in and rev it to about 1200-1500 in park or neutral with the parking brake on. Then I go outside, open the cap of the expansion tank and the vacuum line to the engine and use the vacuum to suck all the gas in the expansion tank into the tube of my test kit. I let it do it for about 2 minutes - if the color doesn't change, you're done.
