My garden is fenced with chicken wire and I love it when my dogs spend a lot of time outside the house. Unfortunately my neighbor has 2 dogs that will walk right along the fence every few hours when they are let loose. My German Shepherd uses his watchdog instinct to alert us that the neighbor's dog is outside and that they are still outside and they are still outside and that they are still outside. marching along that fence line and barking hysterically. We've tried squirt bottles and timeouts (and before I had one, I think a bark collar) to no avail. I read about these sonic bark cleaners and thought it might be worth a try. I've read that some dogs get used to starting with a low noise and gradually increasing it, so I started at the highest level with the intention of reducing it as she gets better. After setting it up (pointing it at the fence closest to the neighbor's dogs) I think she barked maybe twice and has been blissfully quiet ever since. She no longer gets hysterical when other dogs go outside, looks at her but doesn't run over. The only thing I would change is the constantly blinking light: it blinks green every five seconds just to indicate it's on, then blinks faster to indicate the battery is low. I think flashing with full charge is a waste of battery and it would be better to just have a sample with low charge.
