When I put this collar on my dog, after adjusting the size and removing 3 links, I found that it stays in the traditional collar position (just behind the ears and just behind the jaw) without that the dog is uncomfortable. Dog or hinders its ability to breathe and have a full range of neck movements. Getting dressed was like magic. My 96 pound GSD puppy (yes, puppy) is a very excited young puppy who regularly pulls the leash and pulls me back and forth. With this leash, he stayed in a heel position with his head just behind my knees and the leash was slack throughout the walk. I'm excited. I use this with much praise and switch leads back and forth, looking forward to my dog walking politely and obediently on any collar/leash combination.
