Unfortunately, these are resin hooks, not coated aluminum like the smaller Clover Amour hooks. But they work great for me. They aren't as buttery soft as the smaller set and are particularly uncomfortable with other synthetic fibers like acrylic. Overall they have a great grip and tip. I had trouble finding the tip of the hook without that sharpness on the end of the hook that keeps the yarn in the groove as it would always get caught on the strands of yarn once I was done stitching and it would become the stitch breaking, which forced me to bend down oddly and work very slowly to avoid it. This put a lot of strain on the arms and hands, so they're perfect for comparison - not at all, and the sink isn't so shallow that the thicker yarn doesn't slip off. I definitely prefer some mild pain resistance in my hands and forearms.
