I bought this lighter not only for candles but also for the occasional cigarette (pssst, don't tell anyone). It came loaded and once I figured out how to use it, it was like a tiny stun gun. The learning curve for lighting a candle with a stun gun is certainly unforeseen. You have to make sure the electric current is going straight through the candle wick in order for it to ignite, and expect it to light up just a little as the wick wax melts. Also, the charge doesn't last as long as one might expect. with such a small and not constantly used product. It comes with a short USB cable and can be easily charged anywhere. All in all, it's a very handy and useful thing to always have on hand and fun to use! Oh and I love the sleek design!
