I rarely give negative feedback as I am generally happy with the products I have purchased. However, I have to echo some of the other comments on the chemical smell here. I know how beeswax should smell as I have worked with beeswax granules before. When I opened the bag, I smelled a good smell of something artificial; It's hard to describe but it wasn't a sweet smell at all. I decided to dissolve it with a steamer hoping the smell would dissipate, but that did NOT happen. The chemical smell was still there after it took some time to melt. I also doubt if this is real because I had to use a higher temperature to melt this beeswax, about 30-35 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the other brand I used and logically it should have melted faster because it was in pellet form while the other was in the form of was solid blocks. Eventually, after it completely melted, I had to use way more essential oil than I was supposed to to mask the chemical smell! I mean I drank an entire bottle of synergy that I created to keep mosquitoes at bay. It should have only been 1/3 to 1/4 of the mix, not my whole bottle! After the product cooled and I had to use so much essential oil, the artificial smell was masked. The texture is smooth and that's maybe the only positive feedback, that I can give I really wanted to like this product. Beeswax isn't cheap, but I usually research and read other reviews before making the right decision. It wasn't a choice at all and I'm disappointed that while some reviewers said it smelled sweet and not chemical, I mostly had to look around and found that more people said it didn't smell like beeswax than it did. Don't repeat the same mistake. If you want to use beeswax for cosmetic purposes, use white wax. I've had great success with him.
