Review on Starrett 166C Insulated Octagonal Handle by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than average, missing one key feature in my opinion

I've never been disappointed with a Starrett tool and this one is no exception. It works quite well and I find it easy to use. I use it to hand drill small diameter holes for plastic screw threads. In this capacity he works well. I bet this works well for my other hobbies too, like model cars. The only thing I wish for, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars, is the free-spinning knob on the end. Tool. Something that puts pressure on the palm and allows you to use the tool with more pressure. I have a cheaper model with this feature and find it indispensable. However, what I really like about this tool is that any length of drill bit can be used as there is a continuous tube running through the centre. I added some anti-seize to the cartridge threads because they were a bit rough when working. I was only able to cover the entire lower half of my body with the silver compound, so I felt it was a solid achievement.

Pros
  • HOLDS UP TO 3.2MM: This pin vise model securely holds work pieces from .050" to .125" (1.3-3.2mm) including small work pieces, taps, Drills, reamers, markers, etc. Wire, small files and other tools.
Cons
