Review on πŸ”ͺ Efficient 12" OLFA Rotating Self-Healing Rotary Mat for Precise Cuts by Morgan Gilmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth every penny, suitable for sewing

I bought a spinning mat from Fiskars and it is warped . I ordered it because it is 14 x 14 and the Olfa mat is only 12 x 12. But every time I rotated it it flew off the floor mat and shifted everything I had cut out. I don't know, maybe it was just a bad batch, maybe it was stored incorrectly before shipping. Needless to say I sent it back and ordered this one. I got it last night and I just love it because it's perfect. I've been cutting quilt pieces since I got them. The top mat is heavy enough to stay in the pivot point of the bottom mat and rotates easily. It has improved and is the same green color as all my other Olfa rugs. Yes, it was a bit more expensive than the other one, but it's worth every penny more. This one measures 12 x 12 inches and is big enough for me with what I'm doing. Since there is a larger size than this, make sure you get what you need. I know you can't square anything larger, but I rarely make blocks larger than 10 inches and I wouldn't use this to square my blocks.

Pros
  • 2 part mat has a non-slip backing with a woven top green cutting mat, yellow grid lines and markers that rotates smoothly 360 degrees
Cons
  • Doubtful
