I feel sorry for my rooster, apparently the small oval thermometer I used with the probe wasn't accurate. So when I had a low temperature, I raised the temperature on the heater. One time when I was changing the water it felt like it was too warm and when I used another thermometer to check the temperature of the water in the sink when changing the water it was about 7 or 8 degrees warmer. So I pulled out several other thermometers and they all confirmed that one was bad. I was lucky my poor fish wasn't belly up. So I tried a few others but ultimately settled on this one. I was concerned about the accuracy, but the positive reviews gave me some hope. And they turned out to be real. This one seems to match all the others I have here for other purposes. I'll probably put some white paper underneath to make it easier to read, but it went through fine and gives me the correct reading. if you have space to place it anywhere on the page.
