Impressive versatile diagnostic tool!

I bought an Autel IM608 for key programming and as the primary scanning tool for both my main job and my side business. When it first came out, I was very impressed with its build quality and feel, as well as the intuitiveness of the software. I was able to set up an account and access all available updates in about ten minutes. I then tried it out on both of my personal cars and was very pleased with how easy it was to access all the different modules and how quickly it interacted with the cars. I'm used to using Chrysler/FCA's WiTech scan tool and the Autel IM608 emulates it almost perfectly. I also use the Ford IDS scan tool and anyone who uses it knows what a bunch of junk that is. . The Autel IM608 takes all of Ford's parameters and converts them into a system that is easier to view and use. What used to take twenty minutes with the Ford IDS now takes me about five minutes with the IM608 simply because it's so much more intuitive and visual. Dodge truck. Autel IM608 instantly reads the PIN code from the SKIM module. It has also successfully read the security codes on a number of Ford trucks I have at work. The customer data page is fantastic too. I entered my personal clients into the tool and it recognizes their cars and saves the data sessions to their personal files. I can also photograph your vehicles for liability coverage and add notes and comments. The Android operating system is fast and responsive, even if it is an older version. But let's face it, you don't need the latest version of Android for a specialized tool. You just need something that works and it does it very well. It includes a browser for watching YouTube and online forums for finding solutions to problems when you're actually in the car, a photo browser, a file manager, and even a hex editor if you really need to get into the firmware and do something manual Editing. I haven't tried using IM608 to flash update modules yet. I'm not sure how well this will work as all the screens I've been able to access so far only show options for European parts or specific module manufacturers like Bosch. Software updates for current diagnostic and immobilizer applications are very common. . It seems like Autel releases them almost every month and they're usually up to date at least up to last year's model. One small quirk is that you can't just download what you need, you have to download them all. This way you have software for China market vehicles even if you only work with Chevy Trucks in Wisconsin. Not a problem at all, but it will eat up some disk space and bandwidth. The problem is that the "Print" function doesn't seem to work. There is no option to set up a printer in Settings, although many document screens have a Print button. I'm not sure how to set this up, if at all possible. This is a bit annoying as I would like to be able to print work orders directly from the tool. It would also be great if there was a built-in form of multipoint validation. Have a margin for testing or reduce the overall software load on the shipping system if your store has one. When I first got this tool it didn't have an option for a lab oscilloscope, although it did have the hardware capability to do so. However, after I made a major update to the diagnostics app, a lab option was added to the software. There is also an inspection camera function. The actual hardware for both is sold separately, which is understandable. I will get both in the future. Overall, this is an incredibly reliable and dependable tool. The price was a bit daunting at first, but now that Autel has added so many additional features to this tool, it's a fantastic price for an all-in-one diagnostic and key programming tool. I'm glad I paid more than Autel's comparable MaxiSys tools and got an impressive system for my money. If you plan to program keys in your shop, buy this tool.
