I have bought several different combination locks that allow you to set your own combination and I have always had trouble setting the combination UNTIL I bought them. Very easy to install, can be retrofitted at any time and is still very durable. I'm not sure how they'll hold up against someone who really wants to take your stuff and has a tool to open it, but they should keep your average thief or sticky-fingered roommate from going through your stuff. BTW, just to clarify - all the locks are the same size, there are no 4 different sizes in the set. I haven't tested them for the elements, all mine were for the items inside. To be honest I would worry about weatherproofing them.
