Yes it will fit in the fender of a car but it's too small for the bar itself. I should find a similar part, try WD-40 or try to fit through the inside of this bushing drill. I inserted the rod with a rubber mallet (I have my own). I got a little bored too. After drilling, I placed the bushing on the stem and moved the bushing further down the stem. I entered the driveway with a broom to open the hood. I inserted the rod and bushing into the wing, made sure I could move it, and attached the bushing to the wing, done.
