Toyota quality? suitable for PVC valves, breathers and accessories

attempted installation in a brand new fender, mostly so loose that it falls out, no problem return and assumption of costs. Hopefully the gluing will keep it from losing the hood brace. A very expensive piece of plastic will next end up in a landfill. Lesson learned. excellent seller although sent quickly.

Without 03 Vibe

Without Fit 2003 Pontiac-GM Vibe/Toyota Matrix. It was the wrong shape of the hole on the machine. I managed to tighten it with a screwdriver. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'll have to look into this as GM discontinued that part for the Vibe. Otherwise the product is ok as long as it fits your car.

Normal product but fits loose and sloppy

Got this for a 2003 Corolla hood stay. It's the right size and fits in the inlet, but is very loose and comes out easily. It should have a wider back for better grip. I'm going to hot glue the part or it will definitely fall out. Obviously the OEM part wasn't much better or it would still be there.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky

The bushing should snap into place with 4 plastic tabs that pop out from the inside of the mounting hole, but for some reason the tabs don't spring out far enough and the bushing falls out every time the hood support rod moves up into the hood support position. Maybe I can fill it with epoxy. This is based on a 2005 Pontiac Vibe.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Expensive

fits exactly, works well, non OEM

Grommet hole is small. I used WD-40 on the stem. Lay the grommet on the garage floor and thread the pole through. After that it slides pretty easily. Fits my 2010 Corolla. However, you must focus on turning the rod up and down or the bushing will pop out of the housing/bushing hole. Not a clean OEM part as expected but works well enough for the few times the hood needs to be lifted.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • don't remember

Fits 2009 Pontiac Vibe

Yes it will fit in the fender of a car but it's too small for the bar itself. I should find a similar part, try WD-40 or try to fit through the inside of this bushing drill. I inserted the rod with a rubber mallet (I have my own). I got a little bored too. After drilling, I placed the bushing on the stem and moved the bushing further down the stem. I entered the driveway with a broom to open the hood. I inserted the rod and bushing into the wing, made sure I could move it, and attached the…
