Review on Regalo 44 Inch 6 Inch Extension Pressure by Tomas Webb

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not very suitable for 44 " wide doors.

I originally wanted this because I'm trying to replace the gate. I have this screw in the wall. Mine kept falling all out of the walls (probably due to a Installation error on my part but I didn't want to mess with it) I bought this to go between the living room and the front door/hallway so my Siberian Huskies wouldn't run away or bother me when I was doing business at the front door and they out of the bedrooms too /Keep bathrooms away.. My opening is 44" right between the front door and the living room, and they have to screw in enough so that the threads "kink" where they enter the gate, which basically just makes it fall off even without strong pressure .Of course, this does not work for huskies who like to play rough and sometimes babysit. In the end I decided that he would go to the entrance of my corridor, the the smallest n elongation and only half has threads. It's quite a tight setup, but with my new walls and paint (this house was built 1 year ago) the top end will slowly slide down the wall when pushed or pulled firmly by an adult. If they could hold onto the wall better, I probably wouldn't have this problem. Due to the way the gate gap works, it's not possible to make the top rock hard. The lower part has no problems. I'm giving it a star because it doesn't fit properly in the given space even though it's advertised and once I put it where it fits it still slips. EDIT: Well I've had this gate for a few months now and I like it a lot more than my other gates I've had before, although it didn't do what I wanted. I had to move back to my parents house and frame the gate in front of my bedroom door (but I can still close the door behind them and leave the gate open which is nice so I don't have to take it down and hang it up all the time). The top doesn't have to be really rock hard, and I don't like that I have to press it against the frame to keep it from popping out from time to time (sometimes more when my dogs are feeling extra energetic). I am also expecting my first child now and I hope that this will be up to the task of the child. However, it's so easy to use and I'm happier with it now than when I started, which is why I've changed my rating to 3 stars instead of 1.
