You might want to buy two of these.

I wish I had bought some meat hooks a few years ago. As a line chef, I don't often have to lug around large lumps of dead animals, so it's not typically something you find in most restaurant kitchens, let alone at home. I make a lot more meat products now and while I don't work in a meatpacker or a butcher shop I see them being used at the local slaughterhouse and they seem to hold up to professional use. This certainly makes moving half carcasses a lot easier and safer, especially if you don't have a handrail. It has a very comfortable and comfortable grip and does a great job of keeping your hands and fingers away from a razor sharp knife. Very easy to clean and disinfect, does not collect grease or other debris in crevices. I use them a lot at work and if I was hunting or butchering in any way I would have at least a few of them. They are very sharp and sharp - I keep wine cork halves on the ends of mine as they live in my kitchen tool box and I find puncture wounds uncomfortable. If you're one of the relatively few people who must have meat hooks, you should have these.
