Good quality, terrible rail mounting hole spacing

Overall, this kit was pretty good quality. The instructions left a little to be desired, but was pretty easy to figure out. My major grievance is the infuriatingly stupid stud spacing. With the 8' model, the track is split into two sections that are bolted together. Each half of the railing has four mounting holes, each spaced 16" apart. HOWEVER, between the two sections, there is only a 12 1/16" spacing, which throws the stud spacing off. Directions confirm that this is the way it was designed. After getting the first section secured, NONE of the second section aligned with any studs. Funnily enough, they were all missed by about 4"! The wall anchors are pitiful and provide no grip while securing, so they just spin loose. I just drilled new mounting holes in the rail and will live with the extra holes. Pretty poor design.

Built a barn door for my sons room and this worked perfectly and looks sharp.
