I bought two of these. One for the Great Pyrenees and one for Doxin. The instructions were kind of easy to follow. I got confused when I figured out how to switch it from vibration to shock. The battery lasts a few days. This is normal, but the collar I had previously stayed charged for a week so I'm a little frustrated that I have to charge it more often. But it works. This works very well. Our Great Pyrenees bark louder than the train (an exaggeration but you know what I mean). Soft, deep and very loud barking. It definitely helped him stop barking at every leaf that fell from the tree. Now our Doxin, we just left it on vibro. That's all he needs to help his whining. (He has major bonding issues) He will whine from the moment we leave to the moment we return and even lose his voice for whining so much. So the vibration helped get the message across, and without the collar he whined a lot less. This is great for dog training and getting rid of bad habits. For that reason, I definitely recommend it for younger puppies. But if you're looking for something longer term I'd recommend something slightly better so you're charging less. Also, I love it!
