I love this yarn for its depth, color and texture! Great for my projects and I've bought 3 packs in the last month. BUT: When I opened all the packages, each strand smelled strongly of mold. I decided to put the yarn in a laundry bag and send it in the wash. Machine (cold) before use. You need to unravel the yarn and lay it out to dry. After washing it smells good, the colors stay bright. The yarn swells after washing as you can see in the 1st and 3rd pictures. GENERAL: Washing/air drying the yarn is a minor inconvenience that I am happy to put up with for this item.
