I bought 2 of these kits, one for an 8hp Mercury 2-stroke and one for a 15hp Mercury 2-stroke. First I worked on an 8hp motor and all was going well until it was time to install the impeller. It was extremely difficult to slide the impeller off the drive shaft. I made sure the driveshaft was clean and lightly lubricated. I used PVC pipe to lay it on the shaft and put it in place. It needs to be cut to replace it. I bought a micrometer to check the impeller for 15hp. It was 12.5mm and the shaft size was 12.5mm (see first photo). I went and bought a Sierra impeller (see 3rd package photo). It snapped easily onto the 15-horsepower shaft. I measured the Sierra and the old wheel and both were 12.7mm. I exchanged a few messages with the seller SHAYING and they said their wheel should be 12.6mm. SHAYING sticks to the 12.6mm wheel. Overall the repair kit worked well and met expectations. I wanted to build a lower unit so I bought a Sierra wheel from a local store and paid more than if I had the time and ordered online. Just be aware that the impeller can be very difficult to install. The next time I disassemble an 8hp water pump I'm going to put in a new Sierra 18-3062 impeller.
