Review on Floral 1 Copic Sketch Marker Set (6 Colors) by Shantel Griffin

Copic Earth Essentials (B41, B45, E34, E39, YG13 & YG17)

I've wanted the 6 pack of Copic Sketch Earth Essentials markers for months. Copics are expensive so $24.99 for six markers was a bargain for me and I bought a pack. The colors in the set are B41 (Powder Blue), B45 (Smoke Blue), E34 (Roasted), E39 (Leather), YG13 (Chartreuse) and YG17 (Grass Green). B45 seems to be the juiciest marker. out of the bag and B41 seems less wet. I've used the two Blues the most so far and already have a feeling I'll need a B41 refill soon. My non-professional take on people new to Copic markers: Copic markers are alcohol-based markers, meaning you can mix colors together without rolling onto the paper (unlike water-based markers). However, this does not mean that you can mix any colors together. The starting point is the letter on the marker that represents the color family. Therefore, colors from one color family mix well with other colors from the same family. However, if you have a very light color and you want to blend that into a very dark color, I need a third or fourth marker in the midtones for the transition to work. Two colors of the same family that are close to each other are mixed without additional midtone marking. For people who are interested in Copic markers or need help using them, YouTube videos and online blogs are a great way to learn. First of all, you need to practice using them. As I said above, I'm not a professional artist, so I don't plan on owning all of the markers and refills (there are 358 colors, so no thanks). I am planning to purchase new markers (and matching refills). The new marker needs to complement the ones I already have and suit my color level and style (I'm an amateur colorist), so too many colors would be overkill and, quite frankly, a waste of money. For them I would have to do without dyeing. I started drawing with crayons but my wrist hurt and then when I started drawing more I got pain in my shoulder. I switched to Copic markers and my wrist and shoulder pain is gone. So all good. I bought my first Copic marker in December 2019 or January 2020. Now I have too many to count and I have spare cartridges for all the markers I have. Buying Copics is like falling down a rabbit hole: once you're in it, you'll have to pay the cost of your life and your collection will multiply like rabbits. Haha.

Great Markers! Pictures online are a bit misleading though.
