(1) The top of the paper doesn't slide very deep into the device, so the perforated holes are slightly closer to the top of the page than normal, and (2) holes too close together, so you might just tear the paper a little bit if you put them in a zip-lock file folder, and (3) the paper doesn't slide decisively into the guide so you have to take a few extra seconds to make sure it's sitting snugly there before it hits him. But it's very compact with an attractive, slim design. It doesn't take up much space at all and doesn't irritate your eyes like a regular hole punch. You might even be able to adjust it perfectly and punch holes like you would with a stapler. For the space I have it (on a counter full of electronic lab equipment) and the number of sides we need to punch (only 1 or 2 at a time) it does a great job.
