Got this to match a Craftsman Shop vacuum. The part number is listed on my vacuum's accessory list. Installing an adapter on an existing vacuum hose (to use it as an extension of how it's intended to be used) is less than miraculous. I got a "ring" of the hose up to the adapter on the first try. This will not provide a sufficiently secure fit. After a bit of warming up with a heat gun, the extension hose came up to the adapter's shoulder quite easily. It took very little heat to bring the two pieces together. If the heat gun worked fine, be careful. The plastic that makes up this tubing will quickly turn to a pulp if heated too much. The locking lever on the adapter is unusable. It touches nothing and is not fixed. This extension hose may work better with brands other than Craftsman. I find it odd that the Craftsman extension hose doesn't go well with the Craftsman. vacuum cleaner for which it is specified as suitable. He will. I expected better.
