This disc is slightly larger than the GPS suction cup on my Garmin. This made it a bit difficult to place on my dashboard as the dashboard has a curve, there really is no 'flat' spot. I got the dashboard because my friend complained when the GPS fell off the windshield. I thought the hard drive would solve this problem. But the GPS also fell off the pane. Spring. I think that's probably less common with a disc than with a direct windshield mount. And I think it's not because of the discs, but because of a temperature change of the condensation and the suction cups. The disc hasn't moved since I put it in the car. Thieves have been known to break into cars if they have suction cup marks on their windshield, believing the car has GPS - a permanent dial on the dashboard doesn't help. But I put a box of tissues on top that I keep in the car when I park. I don't know if this helps anyone, but it's better than nothing.
