It does not take long!
Bought this recorder at least a few years ago. It worked great whenever I used it, which wasn't a big deal. When I recently turned it on to use it, it freezes completely when I press the record button. Removing and replacing the batteries resets it, but it freezes again as soon as I hit the record button. I took very good care of my unit; still looks new! Looking for another brand as a replacement. I will not buy Olympus again.
