I spent HOURS looking for smart plugs before deciding on this one (my first smarts alongside the Echo and Fire Stick TV). They were very affordable, but more importantly, they were very easy to set up and use. I definitely plan to buy more. You simply download and connect the Meross app. The app is very intuitive. You can give the plugin a name and even an icon. Just complete setup and then repeat for multiple outlets (if you set up multiple outlets, the name of the first one still shows by default, so just delete it and enter a new name; that got me the first time Somewhat confused) . After setting her up, I opened Alexa and found the right skill for her very easily. Now I can use either the Meross app or Alexa (phone or voice) to turn it on or off. They feel solid and don't get hot even when they're on. There's a small light on the side when they're on, but it's easy to cover up with a small piece of tape if you want one in your bedroom. I also like how they work with Alexa routines. Now I can just tell Alexa it's time for bed and she will unplug my TV and turn on the ones in my bedroom for my fan and night light. If you plug your TV into one of these and leave the TV on, you can use Alexa to turn the plug (and therefore the TV) on or off. I used to have to physically turn on the TV before I could use Alexa and the Fire Stick for voice control. Now I can tell Alexa to turn on the TV port and keep talking to run programs on the Fire Stick.
