Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Your DIRECTV Connection: 2 Pack - Third Generation DIRECTV Broadband Deca Ethernet to Coax Adapter with 2 AC Power Supplies by Drew Serrano

Works great, but needs adjustment!

Updated 10/04/2019. After spending more time with the adapter I finally figured out what my original problem was with it working. I misunderstood how to use the adapter as I assumed that the wired connections already in place would work automatically and this is where I was initially wrong. I made a diagram to show this, but basically you have to rewire the original cable connection in order for the cable TV service not to work with this adapter, since you essentially have to replace the connection to the main cable line with the adapter you plug into the routers . What I honestly didn't know was that the adapter could act as a main connection, which basically allowed multiple signals to be connected through a splitter, which in my case was a 4-way splitter. Of course, you only get two Deca adapters, but I can confirm that the signal is taken through a splitter, which makes this adapter more appealing now that I'm guaranteed to connect to a Coxal wallbox or cable anywhere in the house. !When I finally had everything set up, I tested the device and found that it works perfectly! I was sending files back and forth and getting about 10MB/s transfer and 11MB/s transfer over LAN. Compared to my powerline tplink adapter, this wasn't a problem as the powerline could only achieve a miserable 2MB/s in transmission and 1MB/s. From underneath. Without a doubt, the DECA adapter is the obvious choice for an insanely cheap alternative wired solution, and while 100Mbps is all you get, it's more than enough to handle your streaming, gaming, and browsing needs! First Review: The Deca adapter seemed pretty cheap. an alternative to ethernet over coax so I jumped at the chance hoping it would be a much better solution than the power supply I already had. Unfortunately after plugging in two adapters, one from my router, the other to my living room where the other had a coax connection, I was greeted with a frustrating blinking orange light under 'Network'. After two hours or more, I finally got the first piece of advice that helped me come to the long-awaited conclusion. Before attempting to connect two adapters in the usual way, I recommend taking a coax cable first and connecting it that way. That's how I found out that neither the adapters themselves nor my router had any issues that I feared might be a problem. Unfortunately it was my existing cable that just wasn't up to working standard, although that was confusing as it worked fine before it was eventually (outside of course) disconnected by the service provider long before I got these adapters. It would be nice to have a manual on these things, but I've heard these adapters were originally only intended for Direct TV technicians. I'll keep them and keep working, maybe see if I can figure out what the problem might be, but I wanted to at least warn people who might run into this problem.
