We have a bad ATT signal so I was looking for a way to extend coverage from my house to my barn. I already had a coax cable in the ground, but no ethernet cable. We've been using Microcells around the house for a number of years and they work great as long as you don't stray far from the cage. My solution was to put a second Microcell in the shed to extend the coverage area. The problem is that Microcell requires an ethernet cable and I didn't have one and didn't want to run it 200 feet through

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Fiction! Best in Computers & Accessories

I needed a faster connection to my Internet router than my WLAN offered. While I connected a 100 Mbps Internet connection to my router via Ethernet, I only got 45 Mbps over the WiFi connection. And in some parts of my house, the speed was as low as 18Mbps. I've tried powerline ethernet devices that plug into your outlets, but while in parts of the house with poor WiFi signal, they have speeds of up to 30 -40 Mbit/s, I had intermittent problems. Sometimes the speed of the connection dropped…

Great device! on networking products

So I had an old FireStick Gen2 and the built in Wi-Fi was poor at best. Caused multiple crashes with the IPTV server I'm using. So I looked for hardware solutions. First, using an OTG cable and an Ethernet adapter, I was able to connect my first generation FireStick 2. However, my second was a little further away and didn't have wired ethernet, and I didn't want to pinch any cables. I started looking for MoCA adapters for some devices to convert ethernet to coax to use as a transmit/receive…

Works great, but needs adjustment!

Updated 10/04/2019. After spending more time with the adapter I finally figured out what my original problem was with it working. I misunderstood how to use the adapter as I assumed that the wired connections already in place would work automatically and this is where I was initially wrong. I made a diagram to show this, but basically you have to rewire the original cable connection in order for the cable TV service not to work with this adapter, since you essentially have to replace the…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Concise instructions

2 PACKS - DIRECTV Broadband DECA Ethernet to Coax Adapter - 3rd generation (with 2 AC power supplies) : I was looking for a way to get Ethernet into the corner of my house where Wi-Fi just isn't enough to connect my TV, BlueRay player and Fire TV. Wiring was out of the question due to the gas fireplace and a few other obstacles preventing a clean flow. I tried using a Wi-Fi extender but the connection kept dropping. I then tried the Ethernet Powerline Kit, but due to some issues, that also…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
