I have to admit that I was against using a garlic press; but chopping garlic with a knife is a real chore - pieces of garlic stick to the knife blade (even if you oil the blade). So I decided to give it a try. Well this thing works great. I know it crushes the garlic, but if your recipe calls for crushing, you still want all the garlic flavor. You will need to clean the press head after each tooth, but this can easily be done with the tip of a knife. It leaves a nice chunk of crushed garlic clove, so I usually add an extra clove if more than 4 cloves are needed. Now for the scrub. My first thought was to just throw it away as I don't have much trouble peeling garlic and this stuff doesn't seem to work. I decided to give it a try and it works really well - it just takes a little practice to get the pressure under control. Finally, the price of this set is VERY reasonable - I would recommend it to anyone.
