Looks great in the Prius but needs work.

I bought a head unit for my 2010 Prius because I wanted something that looked factory. My Prius doesn't have JBL speakers, so all I needed was a main unit with no additional components. The head unit itself came with all the cables to connect directly to the vehicle's wiring harness. As with other reviews, the Prius says it comes with a single wiring harness that has nowhere to connect to the radio, but it doesn't seem to be needed for anything and I'm actually not sure what those wires are even for. As this is a Chinese radio the instructions are quite simple which is to be expected. The steering wheel remote control works great. You have to program them into the main unit first before they work, so don't worry. The software is Android. This is my first full Android head unit and I don't think I'll ever go back to anything less. Basically you can do everything that any other head unit on the market can do and then some. Looks and sounds good, and the UI looks great. So why 4 stars and not 5? Because the holes in it should match the factory radio hardware, but they don't. When you put the screws in and put the radio in, it won't fit. It took me hours to figure out how to properly align the radio where it should be when it should have been a simple hardware change. In the end I just had to use 2 screws per side, then put washers behind the screws and finally line up the head unit right in the car. All of this could have been avoided if the mounting holes were placed right on the sides.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
