Review on 🧵 6 Pieces of Similane Aida Cloth 14 Count White Cross Stitch Fabric, 12x18 Inches by Linda Diaz

First of all, I really never write product reviews; not to mention the bad reviews. I want to share my experience for those who have many years of sewing experience so they are not blind. When I first discovered this product I was so excited. It was exactly what I was looking for and the price was perfect. When it arrived I was amazed at how it looked. The color and the thick material looked great. As soon as I started my project, the problems started. I have been sewing cross stitches for fourteen years. I love cross stitches and was dying to use this fabric. When I tried to hoop it (something I don't normally use but is necessary for this particular project) the fabric was so stiff it was almost impossible to insert the fabric. After ten attempts, I finally managed to get enough fabric for the hoop so I could continue. After I started flashing, I noticed another problem. The fabric is so starched and stiff I could barely thread the smallest needle I have (used on Hade 18 count) through the holes. I began the tedious process of wrestling with the needle to get through the holes. Unfortunately, I soon encountered another problem - the material tore my thread. I constantly had to rethread the thread beforehand because the movement chewed the thread and weaved through the fabric. Within an hour I had a few broken threads, the needle was almost completely bent in half and my ankles were painfully swollen from the process. For all that, the fabric still looks great, it was just a lot harder to work with. I'm finishing a project I started as it's small and I used a more expensive thread with it, but I've already processed the return to get rid of the rest.
