Review on 🚗 Mishimoto MMRAD-RX8-04 Performance Aluminum Radiator for Mazda RX-8 2004-2011: High Efficiency Cooling Solution by Will Murphy

Mishimoto claims this is an exact OEM match. This is anything but true. Just take a look. The brackets holding the fan were so far removed that I had to carve new ones. The primary mounting bosses on top are so small you can't even use a regular nut, let alone a factory one. Not to mention they weren't even the right distance apart. More custom parts again. The mounting plugs for the AC capacitor weren't even close to the right indentation, so the capacitor couldn't even be installed. So I had to carve some spacers out of Delrin. What should have been a quick install turned out to be an all-day project. Good thing I have a machine shop and a TIG welder. The box they ship this in is amazing - it's a very thick, beautiful black box with a perfect sized foam insert. If they put half the effort they put into making the box into a real product, they would have a great product. The cooler itself is fine - nothing special. If you look inside the hardware you can see they didn't even bother to trim off excess material and the internal fit isn't that great. This will likely reduce overall water usage. It sure looks great from the outside. I wouldn't recommend this if you just want to use an OEM style radiator - just get a real Mazda and save yourself the headache.
