This is a great multi-purpose dog device. It can be used as a remote control training collar or an automatic dog fence. It comes with 492 feet of high quality polyolefin cord which was more than adequate for my needs. The cable is very flexible and is well suited for individual borders. The collar and remote control are charged; I can go collarless for about 2 days in training mode and about a week in fence mode before needing to recharge. The remote control battery lasts a week before needing a charge and is very easy to use. You can buy extra collars that pair with a remote control, and you can use as many collars as you like inside the fence (so it's pretty versatile if you have multiple dogs). I have a black lab that I use this on and it worked great. She can walk around the garden and I don't have to worry about her going away. This product saved me from putting up a wooden fence, well worth it.
