Even my husband could install this UNIVERSAL LICENSE PLATE ADAPTER

It replaced my broken holder. He used existing screws and dispensed with a backplate. It took less than a minute and it's definitely not mechanical. It came with a bunch of screws and zip ties that are now in our weird stuff that we might need one day.
