If you are looking for a cheap external DVD burner, this is a no-brainer. The device arrives well packaged and well padded. It rests in a well padded and attractive soft case which has external zipped pockets for storing an extra power cord etc. That's good as these are external devices that can be tucked away until needed. I installed it on an HP ENVY dv6 machine. It is very easy to install as you really just have to plug the USB into the USB port. That's all. The computer does the rest. After my first test I noticed that it's a bit slower than an internal DVD, but that's not unexpected and shouldn't be a reason to buy, because that's how electronics work. Except for this small feature, the device worked very efficiently. Thus, the DVD's performance alone gives it a 5-star rating. The only downside would be that the instructions are on a folded sheet of paper with very small writing. So if you have problems with "lowercase" you can get a magnifying glass. But if you read it, you'll see that the company offers more than adequate after-sales support. I would definitely buy this item again.
