Review on Jacquard Procion Fiber Reactive Ounce by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

When everything else goes wrong. read the instructions!

Easy to use and mix. More precise color with long-lasting results. Much better than Rita paints. But follow the mixing instructions to the tee. DO NOT USE THE MIXED LIQUID COLOR YOU SEE. The first time I tried dying my pants emerald green, I mixed the colors according to the instructions and the mixture came out mustard green. Pooh. So I played chemist and added colors until the mix was a nice green. As I went through the soaking process, my pants turned dark brown. I had to bleach them four times to get a color light enough to paint over. When I went through this process again (this time using the color matching chart) the hideous color combination turned the pants into the beautiful green I wanted. Lesson #1 learned. Another instruction not to be missed. I pulled a pair of shorts from my desk drawer to dye them navy blue. At first they were beautiful, but after the first wash they faded. My fault! Didn't think I needed a prewash as the shorts were clean. But I use fabric softener and it binds to the fabric so the ink doesn't stick. Be sure to wash beforehand with a detergent without additives or fabric softener. And don't use the sheet to dry the cloth. Lesson 2! Following the directions I successfully painted a few pieces and they all came out great. PS I am posting this review for Jet Black, Turquoise, Lemon Yellow and Fuchsia as I have purchased four colors which form the basis for all other colors in the spectrum (CMYK in print terms).
