Review on PawHut Small Animal Cage: Main House & Run For Rabbit, Guinea Pig, Hamster - Indoor/Outdoor Use by Sabrina Ross

Nice set up for 2 Guinea pigs

I have 2 male Guinea pigs as classroom pets, so I wanted a cage plus some extra room for them to run around in, but still stay contained. This cage, with its extra fencing, works great! I use a fleece liner in the cage part, and then newspapers to line the part with the fence. My piggies had no trouble with the ramp out of the cage, since it is covered with fleece. They had difficulty with the plastic ramp up to the platform in the cage, so I covered that with a piece of a towel, and now they can scramble up to the platform to eat and drink. I like the hay rack that hangs on the side of the cage--it gives my piggies an extra place to sit and eat hay. The cage was very easy to put together, and since the top opens on the cage, it is pretty easy to clean. I added some extra fencing to my out of cage space, since a coworker had some small fencing she wasn't using. If you have the space, I would definitely recommend doing this. They will run around more if they have more room! I think this would be a good set up for 1 or 2 Guinea pigs.

Pros
  • Access to Rabbits: Featuring a main house and an open-topped exercise pen, this design gives you quick and easy access to feed and pet your furry friends, or clean the cage. They'll enjoy playing on and scaling the various levels, separated by ramps. A water bottle, a water bowl, and food dish are included. A separate feeding area is available on the balcony.
Cons
  • The door may not close securely and allow predators to enter
