I was really looking forward to this little book. I needed something for travel to keep me busy on long flights. Outer cover made of thick cardboard. I don't like the paper itself. It is extremely thin and has some medium permeability. Also, all of the doodles in this book are outlined in very light gray. I expected it to be outlined in black as shown in the description photos of this listing. Since it is sold under the Arteza brand, I tested Arteza markers, Crayons and real markers. I also tested another brand of Posca alcohol markers and pens. Genuine Arteza brush pens will not mix with other colored or water pens on this paper. Arteza's thin liners do not absorb well into the paper and leave very muted colors. The Arteza Expert colored pencils worked well. I could blend and layer almost effortlessly. Then I tried using some alcohol markers and the paper just soaked up the marker and even spread the ink beyond the lines. Mixing was possible with alcohol markers if you don't mind using a ton of ink. The Posca pens worked effortlessly, but I don't really use them to paint large areas just to highlight my work. But they didn't bleed. So basically I'm only going to use colored pencils in this book. Really not recommended if you don't mind. I also want Arteza to show real pictures from the book in the description. I would not have bought this book if I had known that the illustrations are circled in very light grey.
