I received a set of washers drilled for Schrader valves and when I was researching installing Presta tubes no one bothered me Issue alert, apart from that it can rattle a bit and I think that's a minor issue. It was many years ago. One day I pumped up the tires and when I got to my destination, the inner tube was completely flat in front of me in about 5 seconds. The hole in the rim cuts into the base of the whistle. I have the rim tape and it's coming off a bit which could be a bad thing, but the valve hole was a bit sharp and eventually cut into the tube. In this case, it took many years to happen, but reliability is a big issue. I noticed someone had a plastic hub but it was mounted on the outside of the rim next to the spokes, it was more of a false sense of security. .Installing these bushings from the inside should solve this problem. This may seem like a chore, I didn't remove the wheels, I just blew the air out, took the hose out and put it in. As I said, the band was slightly misaligned, so I used a small screwdriver to lift the band and then inserted it. this sleeve into the band and then onto the rim. It only took a few minutes plus a few more to inflate the tires. I noticed that the plastic sleeve I had couldn't be fully refitted. But the root cause of an accidental flat tire is now eliminated.
