The smart key function is simply ingenious, because it allows you to easily recode all locks yourself in a matter of seconds. You don't need a locksmith or anything (looking at you and trying to find the right Schlage locks to redo the whole house would take forever). However, please note that the smart key instructions are terrible as they are general and do not describe the correct key changing procedure for this Spyglass lock. I had to turn the key all the way to the right and then insert the tool to get the cylinder to click. Then I could change it. It really doesn't matter because the process of installing and changing the key is very simple once I have the first one. 10 minutes per lock and I was able to make 5 doors in under an hour. I used a battery powered impact wrench to quickly tighten the bolts and a regular hand screwdriver for final tightening. Locks are RELIABLE and of excellent quality. . Door handles are thick and heavy all-metal parts. The hardware bezels are also made of thick solid metal. I was surprised by the quality of the metal and the finish. To sum up, the feeling of turning the door knob is like a high quality door lock. would recommend.
