The thing is excellent. It quickly removes thick calluses. Several reviewers said it was unreliable. In truth, it's designed to give a little. This is to prevent excessive force being applied which could result in injury. Gentle pressure is enough. Several reviewers said it didn't remove much. A few tips: First, make sure your feet are completely dry. Try to keep the grinding side down. Otherwise, the skin scraped off (in the form of a white powder) may clog the cut surface. If placing the sanding side down is not practical, periodically tap it against something to dislodge any powder that has built up. When you're done, wash it and even use an old toothbrush to gently brush it. The vast majority of reviewers give 5 stars. This is the best I've ever used.
