I have come a long way with this product. I (my wrists, to be precise) refused to hand whip cream with a cold whisk. I've had better luck with a kitchen blender, but that seemed like overkill. This product is ideal for preparing fresh whipped cream for desserts or Irish coffee. I used 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream and whipped quickly (I timed it) for a minute. Then I paused to add a splash of vanilla and a tablespoon of powdered sugar and beat for another 30 seconds. Perfect results! The white rubber cap on the base serves as the lid - a very clever design. I immediately hand washed the flask. My only "cons" are that the whole thing is a bit noisy when in use and feels rather flimsy overall. A hard push at an odd angle can potentially crack the plastic. But for the price (half the cost of the Pampered Chef version), I think you get what you pay for.
