My wife slips away. Technology passes many people by. For people who are not tech savvy, there is no longer a simple cell phone. I work part time from home and need to be able to call my wife while I'm away. She doesn't understand how to answer a cell phone (Android or iPhone, and forget the clamshell phone!). I bought this product because others have used the Bluetooth function. That works great. The base unit is easy to connect and when the phone leaves our house and comes back it connects instantly. When a cell phone rings because we bought several devices, it rings so loudly on all devices that my wife rarely misses a call. You don't need a phone line to use this phone.
