I've been wearing Birkenstock clogs (Boston) and sandals (Arizona) since high school and I've always wanted to a pair of non-slip clogs to wear to work. The strap on them is a nice addition, invisible as long as it doesn't hold the shoes on the foot. The fit is exactly the same as the Boston clogs, although you stand about 1/4 inch taller due to the slightly thicker sole. The black leather has so far been durable enough to be wiped down with a damp cloth at the end of the night and thick enough to shed hot splashes without drama, with the strap holes on the instep sometimes protruding below the trouser cuffs and *might* be an entry point for providing falling liquids and dirt to get into the shoe - this hasn't happened to me yet but the potential is there. Update: This has happened a few times. It's very annoying every time. The soles could also be a little more slip-resistant. The small Birkenstock pattern is great for oily floors or wet floors or dry floors as long as you only use one at a time. During my night I rushed through the whole kitchen and I felt the familiar feeling of slipping several times. The protector is also loaded with dirt. fast, which also reduces slip resistance. Is that a step up from Super Birki? ? There is no jury yet. They are more comfortable, I stand lower and prefer leather over rubber. The downsides are the cost, the bland look (I need crazy colors), and the inability to put them in the dishwasher. I think the Super Birki have better traction but they are so much more comfortable that I can forgive that and just walk more carefully. All in all a super comfortable shoe that I would recommend to all Birkenstock fans. UPDATE: July 23, 2015 Shoes are made without notice. They were easy to clean and were comfortable for over 12 hours, but today I found them dead. The sole had detached cleanly from the left boot in the car. The underside of the outsole had some wear but nothing major - only the midsole was peeling off. I'm torn between ordering another pair or going back to super tags. Completely unacceptable for a $140 shoe and I'm deducting a star for that. I expect at least a year from my shoes.
