Review on πŸ’¦ Compact 554425 VCMA 20ULS Condensate Removal Solution by Jerry Mangum

The manufacturer is known to be defective

The pump works well and is fairly quiet. The check valve is not working properly and is known to the manufacturer to be defective. Water flows back into the reservoir from a height of only two meters at a speed of about one inch in 15 seconds. This failure of the check valve causes the pump to run more frequently, consuming additional energy. I wrote to the manufacturer's technical support. The support rep replied that they use a floating ball in the check valve, not a spring loaded rubber sealed check valve. It is clear that he knew it was an unworkable design since he wrote what is a workable design. He said it usually works. Considering the pump spec is for 20 feet vertical and I'm less than a third of that distance, this is clearly a flawed design. I'll try to find a workable check valve and update the review. It is a pity that this product, like many others, is known to be defective by the manufacturer, but is sold anyway. My guess is that many if not most people will not notice the defect and will simply pay for early outage and more power. Last time I bought from Little Giant. They used to sell a good product.
