A picture of this wheel bolt installer is not real. What is not visible in the picture is that there is a race on the back to reduce friction during installation. I used this tool to replace wheel studs on a 2002 Lexus IS300. The process was pretty simple: remove the caliper assembly and rotor. Then tap out the existing wheel studs with a hammer. Finally, install the new wheel studs, I have doorman, using this tool and an impact wrench until the new studs are seated on the hub. Overall the job took about 2 hours per wheel, taking my time and being careful. I originally tried to get the job done with just a few washers. The main problem with washers is that they are soft metal and will deform quickly under load, especially if you are using acorn nuts. In fact, the washer deformed so much that it broke the threads on one of the wheel studs, so I had to order this tool and remake the stud. So, for those who find this tool unnecessary, I strongly disagree. This tool straightens the bolts, protects the new threads and speeds up the work considerably. Also if you have acorn lug nuts I would say this tool is a must have.
